We are certainly feeling the love of our community and fans this morning! Fire & Water Music Festival was surprised to learn that they had been entered into the Festival Madness Contest on Thursday, March 17, 2016.
“We weren’t even aware of it until we were tagged in a Facebook post,” laughs Cyndie Mitchell, Marketing Director for Fire & Water.
That didn’t stop Fire & Water from taking the lead early in the competition and winning the first round, beating out Winnipeg Folk Fest and surely surprising a lot of people along the way.
“And the biggest upset came from Fire & Water. They took an early lead against Folk Fest and never let go. Are we looking at this year’s Cinderella Story? ? “asked Kristen – Social Media Specialist for Travel Manitoba – in her blog post release of Festival Madness Round 2 – Sweet Sixteen.
“Maybe we are the next Cinderella story,” Mitchell said, “We have a great music festival here in Lac du Bonnet featuring mostly local Manitoba Musicians, but there’s a huge artisan focus on it as well with a craft sale and trade show and the ArtWave Art show that features art and artists from all around the province.”
Fire and Water Music Festival is August Long Weekend, July 29th, 30th and 31st
We are Manitoba’s fastest growing, family-friendly music festival that is perfect for all ages. We’ve got something for everyone in your family – from the youngest to the oldest – with our great collection of artists playing everything from roots country to metal.
The Fire & Water Music Festival features some of the best up and coming Manitoban Musicians, with a sprinkling of Canadian and International performers to help give the festival a little spice.
With three stages of music, artist workshops, children’s programming that is fun for all ages, unserviced RV and camping spaces, the ArtWave Art Show, the Artisan Square Craft and Trade Show and so much more, this is one festival you won’t want to miss.
“We’re just so hapy with the outcome of round 1 of Festival Madness. Folk Fest is a great Festival and so is Rockin’ the Fields. It’s a friendly little competions and I just want to thank everyone who voted for Fire & Water; it really shows how much our community and fan base love this festival. I’d also like to encourage everyone to hit the computers and vote again for round 2 of Festival Madness,” Mitchell said.
Fire & Water Music Festival is up against Rockin’ the Fields of Minnedosa in Round 2 of Festival Madness. This round is shorter than round 1, with round 3 – the Elite Eight starting tomorrow.
