Emily has shared the stage and traded riffs with guitar greats Jimmie Vaughan, John Primer, Garrett Mason, Suzie Vinnick, Sue Foley and Sam Weber among others. Burgess wrote two songs and took guitar duties for 2015’s JUNO nominated album “Wicked” by the 24th Street Wailers.
In November 2017, Burgess released her debut solo album ‘Are We In Love?’, produced by The Weber Brothers. CBC music journalist Bob Mersereau calls the album “Empowering” and “A Big Winner”. John Valenteyn of The Maple Blues Newsletter writes “…she has a knack for writing attractive tunes that feature her biting lead guitar…a combination not often heard”. He adds that the album is “Gorgeously produced”.
In a nutshell – Pure country music genius. Andrew is a singer, songwriter, and larger than life while on stage. I mean, you can’t help but love the guy. The only thing keeping him from being one of the greats in Canadian Country music is that I think he can’t stand the idea of leaving Manitoba for more than a few days at a time. Correction – The only reason he might not be known as one of the greats is that he can’t stand the idea of leaving Manitoba for more than a few days at a time. When checking out your schedule, remember, your only poor choice will be if you choose to miss his show.

Jaxon Haldane reveres tradition while retaining a distinct modernism. His ability to combine the visceral intensity of punk rock or Dixieland, with the soul-stirring emotion of vintage country and blues is emboldened by his songwriting. The result is a gumbo – rich and spicy. Earthy, yet sweet. Rustic, but refined enough that you know a real chef is in the kitchen… one who cooks with love.
Kansas has had one foot in the music world for a couple of decades, weaving in and out of various bluegrass and roots groups, primarily performing original tunes in between a regular job as a fisheries biologist and tossing flies at fish. Work lead Ken and his wife to Lac du Bonnet some 13 years ago and they have called the area home since. Coincidentally, his mother was born and raised in Lac du Bonnet, so, he got an early taste of his uncles and aunts jamming at kitchen parties and such. Ken has released two cd’s of his songs (Hard Liquor-2013 and The Old Hotel Café-2016) and has another due out this summer (Ragged Poetry-2019). “I thought it was a great band name, so we started a band!” -Jo Miller
The members of Knob & Tube are all well known in the music scene, playing collectively in over a dozen local acts. Traditionally side players, Dunn and Miller trade off leading this outfit, with a mix of heartfelt originals, and covers that are personal favorites. Chris Dunn, guitar and vocals, has that high, lonesome tenor voice that evokes images of coyotes and campfires. He writes songs that tell a story, and plays guitar like he not only knows the words, but invented the alphabet. Joanna Miller, drums and vocals, sings with a sweet ernestness, like she couldn’t tell a lie if she tried. Songs of life, love, and the highway float over hythms so relaxed they’re almost dozing on your parents couch. Gilles Fournier, bass and good vibes, has that certain, what the french call, i-don’t-know-what. A master on upright and electric bass, he adds an indispensable blend of musicality, humor, and groove.
From the Great Northern Plains of Western Canada, Little Miss Higgins struts and serenades her way, guitar in hand, lips blazoned red, onto any stage. As if she just drove in off the back-road of another time with gravel dust and a sunset trailing behind her, this pocket-sized powerhouse plays music brewed up in old-time country blues sprinkled with a little jazz and maybe a hint of folk. Whetherit’s songs about passion or songs about panties, she writes about real things in a rooted and poetic way. This is all too true on her most recent award-winning album, Across The Plains (2010).
